So ~ How Do We Save Planet Earth? |
|
First, the
Challenge is Immense
So you must channel your energy.
It's simple, sweeping reforms or sweeping extinctions.
We have perhaps a few short decades to get on track. Will our future be "Star Trek" or "Soylent Green?"
A single generation will decide.
So how to make a difference? What can good
citizens do?
Chances are you only have a few minutes or hours today to do anything at all.
First and
foremost, you must properly channel your energy. The wrong thing to do is to
begin surfing all across the Net and dropping into an 'information gobbling'
mode. We are going to help you understand why it is important that you
do not become an information voyeur. Additionally,
through the use of this web-site, we are going to help you understand why and how
activism is suddenly and dramatically different from ever before.
Success in the movement to save planet Earth will not be accomplished through
environmental lessons, but rather by conveying to average Americans a message of
a more immediate nature: Not of how they can save
the environment, but rather how they can afford to.
Success will not be achieved by demanding that our friends and
neighbors start thinking about the forests and streams.
Success will be measured in our capability to stir ordinary
citizens out of their misguided loyalties toward a compromised
two-party system and take the next step, vote for a
radical legislative agenda.
Most Americans do care about the natural world, yet they want to
see a political strategy that improves their daily lives too. The environmentalist message is already with both
politicians and our fellow Americans, and both are failing to act yet for two entirely separate reasons.
So saving planet Earth will require an entirely fresh approach, not
only to U.S. Government--but to other Americans as well.
It is no longer
enough to politely line up every four years and pick the name
of a candidate whom you really know nothing about. The truth
is you can no more become politically informed every four
years from TV ads and articles than you can learn to become a
great athlete by watching the Olympics. If we are to ensure
long-range environmental survival, the election must go from a
periodic distraction, to the finish line of a grand
movement.
Causing
Government to make environmental sustainability a legitimate priority is not
going to look anything like the way it is presented in the movies. So forget
about being the lone crusading hero, but rather seek leadership in a strong and
dynamic movement. It is no longer the sixties where average people have the
time and money to go out and get active. Now days, thanks to
the crush of our current economy, you have a limited number of
hours--so knowing where to use those hours is everything. The first step in saving planet Earth is to
view yourself as
part of a team.
Next, you are sufficiently aware of the recent science
which indicates: To stave off long-range
environmental decline, humanity has but a brief time frame in which
to make substantial political reforms. If you're reading this,
you are already aware that science has done its part and that
it's time for lawmakers to do theirs. So becoming an armchair
environmental scientist will not save the planet. The sum of human knowledge is
already there. The
bad guys must be curtailed with legislation and law. This
will not happen by going off and gobbling more stats. It will
only happen by gathering American voters behind candidates who
are dedicated to making a difference.
Discontinue the activity of endless
talking, web-surfing, and chatting. As we are now realizing, to spend precious hours
dragging through the
web 'learning more science stuff', and then reiterating it to
friends and family is
self-indulgent. Science has done its part. Browsing a gigantic volume of
findings and endless talking does nothing to save planet Earth. So the next step
is to shift away from a mode of information gobbling and
talking, into the advancement of a political strategy.
If you want to
make a real difference, your primary focus must be directed
towards moving
planet-saving legislation past an organized wall of lobbyists
and their connected corporate masters. In essence, in the
modern-age of activism, our most important task is to stop the
forces that stop legitimate reform. With that
understanding comes the realization that we must make our goal
nothing less than The
Separation of Lobbyist and State.
The only thing
that's going to alter mankind's course away from environmental ruin
is extensive and legitimate legislative action. To make this
happen will require a majority of American lawmakers to vote-in a package of sweeping reforms.
At present, both major political parties are entirely complicit
in the same schemes and abuses. So, for this groundbreaking
legislative event to occur a united majority of voting Americans must
elect a new type of lawmaker who represents an un-corrupted political
creed. It doesn't take long before you realize that legitimate
reform will require an entirely NEW 3rd Party.
To have the highest impact with the
fewest possible hours, the most important thing you can do in your quest to save planet Earth is
to get the Common Sense message out to a voting majority of
average Americans. The greatest gift you can give to
generations not yet born is to support or assist our team in the process of reaching out
to the hearts and minds of Americans coast to
coast.
Once you have made
this conscious intellectual shift, only then can your few hours truly make
a difference in preserving the natural environment far into
the future. Common Sense of America is here to receive you
when you're ready to make the most of your time in the
mission to save planet Earth.

All The Organizations, Whom Should You Give To? |
|
Where to Donate?
Getting your money into the right
hands.
It is a brand new age for
activism. Does your favorite organization even know? If we are to cure poverty
then we must change the economic paradigm. If we are to put an end to urban
sprawl we must reject the manifest destiny paradigm. If we are to save the
biosphere we must transform the way in which we relate to the natural
environment. And if we are to do any of it at all--we must alter the
paradigm of government itself. So, how to get your money into the right
hands?
 The
environmental message is already in the hands of Government, so it's time to take a
deeper look into green-groups who claim to need your money.
Both major political parties are entirely complicit in
the same schemes and abuses: so money placed there is wasted.
Humanitarian organizations have ceased to be about the issue and have become stuck
in a fundraising cycle without end; so, to give them money is simply supporting
their financial interest--and post-1970 cycle of failure.
All our favorite organizations'
need to be taught that the time has come to shift from piecemeal measures
--which are virtually always blocked by lobbyists--and become a united front
pushing a comprehensive package of sweeping reforms.
So this is what to do:
If you have a favorite group to whom you like to give money each year, make your
gift have value by placing a condition on it. Simply inquire if they have joined
The American Activism Council. If they haven't, your money will be rapidly
consumed by--the all too evident--cycle of activist failure.
If they still retain their sincere
desire to cause reform, you will find our banner on their web-page. If they don't
support this--entirely free--movement then they've lost their vision. In that
circumstance, to truly help save planet Earth, make
your donation here.

Recycling?
That's nice of you--and politically
correct too.
However, if it's all you're doing, you're not helping. Fact: Separating bits of paper and plastic in the
office or home is virtually meaningless in the long-range environmental big-picture. The time has arrived when there
is too much at stake and too little time for token acts of conscience.

Does Apathy Really Matter?
Does air? Do trees?
The
data is in. By the year 2050 atmospheric CO2 levels will have doubled.
Atmospheric CO2 levels will double yet again by the year 2100. Yes, you read it
right.
In just a century we have leveled half the world's
rainforests. At the current rate, we will lose 1/2 of tropical plant species by
the year 2100. This encompasses 1/3 of all plants on Earth. This will result in
far-reaching environmental decline.
So as we save the whales, we're losing the oceans. While protecting the owls,
we're losing the forests. We've hardly begun to save the forests, and already
the very air we breath is changing. So now what? The wrong thing to do would be
to ignore apathy.
Pollution never sleeps.
Only people do.

| Ending
the Age of Poverty. |
|
The Poverty Connection
Share the wealth or lose the planet.
Looking at a photograph of a hungry child does not
teach you about poverty. It only reveals to the viewer if he or she actually cares. If
the picture of the hungry child moves you, then you possess the human gift of
compassion. Realize that in America there are 25 million American children who
suffer from poverty. Politicians rarely mention them and more rarely does the media show
them. These are the children of unemployed American citizens. You may realize
the scope of poverty amongst Americans. However, the business paradigm in which you
operate on a daily basis not only cares nothing for the poor but also, consumes the
natural environment more aggressively with each passing year.
The coldness of the modern Economy stands like a
wall between average Americans and political activism. We need to extend our
mission into the lives of hundreds of millions of average Americans who do
care about the environment, but are ready for reform of a more immediate nature.
Most of America is locked in an economic struggle. Let's help them out of it so
they can help us and each other--save the planet.
It's certainly something to
smile about. The path to environmental survival must begin with doubling your
income. more»
