Deep inside every human being is a selfless warrior waiting for a good and noble fight. It is exclusively the human instinct, which is shared by all people and spoken of in all languages, to see that all life is respected; and that all children are fed. The existence of a collective conscience may be the only reason we haven't destroyed ourselves already. In this century, it will be put to its greatest test.

First, we cannot stress the time frame enough. The data is there for all to see, and new research is simply giving us more certainty. We are facing a crisis that, which if not addressed, will bring the collective accomplishments of the human race, and indeed the living biosphere, to a slow and anguishing halt. In steadily increasing numbers, this realization is transforming ordinary people into 'citizens of conscience'; and naturally, they want to help. Yet, out of all the organizations who do you give your money to? 

Common Sense of America is the sentinel movement of our lifetimes, and its effects will be felt for generations. This is not exclusively an environmentalist dialogue. It is the discussion of a shared responsibility to those not yet born. It is about having the courage to face the scientific certainty that this generation is the historic critical moment. So how to make a real difference?

Some people think they're saving the planet by donating to a big Greengroup. We urge you to see through marketing strategy, which seeks to maneuver your conscience to obtain your dollar, by which generating money is the end goal, not the means to accomplishing a mission. The moment any organization accepts money from a big company, if that company has a connection with any lobbyist group who maintains a presence in our government, they have quietly agreed to 'hush-up' on the issue of campaign finance as well as lobbying industry reform. This means that almost any group with a corporate logo on their web-site is ultimately spinning its wheels and thus, wasting your money. 

The Democratic and Republican Parties do not need your money. Both major parties are lavishly funded, and both parties are mired in the same schemes and abuses. To take money from special-interests simply nullifies the vital foundation of our Democratic Government. So, money placed there is not simply wasted, it goes to support a two party scheme to keep ordinary people out of the process. See through it! 

The environmental message has been in every State legislature and the U.S. Congress for over 50 years. However, both major parties are preoccupied by a drive to obtain special-interest money allowing wealthy companies to block virtually any reforms they wish. We are discovering that we have little choice but to bring Common Sense to government. We must make absolute certain that the right things will finally be done with that message. If we are to get America back on track, the election must go from a periodic distraction, to the finish line of a grand movement. Help us get the message out there. 

Big business loves your money, yet fears your voice. Corporations will not fund a mission designed to curtail the 25 thousand lobbyists, who in just the past 35 years, have successfully co-opted our government. It is The People who must support the cause of sweeping reform. If you help us today, the people of tomorrow will rejoice in the rewards of an enlightened economic paradigm as well as long-range environmental survival. 

We now have the technology, the vision, and the inspiration to effectively organize all people of conscience; regardless of race, color, culture or economic status, in the most important quest in human history. The age of technology and instantaneous media has provided us with the tools to address and finally cure seemingly impossible problems. Americans can finally create positive and realistic reform. But we can't do it alone. Help us re-connect the people with the traditional desire to build a better world.

With your help, we can place previously ignored yet, vital legislation as well as combined national support behind an uncompromised Congress; by which legitimate reforms may someday be passed to bring about positive and lasting improvements. The data is there for all to see. The dynamics that govern humanity's path toward self-destruction are in firm control. This is for the future. Those born a century from today and beyond need you to be involved now. We have perhaps, a generation to shift the paradigm of human behavior from consumption and exploitation, to one of conservation and compassion. If we fail, within a few decades, we will begin to experience what our descendents will know every day of their lives: an environment suffering waves of species extinctions and a societal community in irreversible decline.

We believe that there is a hero alive in each and every American. This hero may only have one hour a week to give or maybe this hero needs a little bit more information. Maybe this hero has no time to give, and has all the information that he or she needs and can contribute only money. We know how to make one hero's hour, and another hero's dollar work effectively together in this important quest.
